WeightNotes cares deeply about your privacy and data security. We only collect and use data that is necessary to provide and improve the service, and we comply with applicable privacy laws.

2. Data We Collect

We may collect and process the following types of data:

• Data you enter manually: Weight, body fat, target weight, notes, photos and other record data that you choose to input in the app.
• Health data: Data read from Apple Health (Health app) after you explicitly grant permission (such as weight).
• Usage information: Basic usage analytics and crash logs (in aggregated or anonymized form) used to improve stability and user experience.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

• To display your records, charts, timelines and health reports in the app;
• To generate local or AI‑based health analyses when you enable those features;
• To analyze overall usage and improve features, performance and reliability (not for individual profiling).

4. Data Storage & Sync

• Local storage: Your data is primarily stored on your device.
• iCloud sync: If you enable iCloud backup/sync in system settings, your data will be stored and synced using your personal iCloud account across devices.
• No sale of personal data: We do not sell your personal data to any third parties without your consent.

5. AI Features & Third‑Party AI Services

When you use the “AI Health Assistant” or “AI Health Analysis” features, and only with your consent, the app may send certain data to the AI provider you select in order to generate personalized health advice and analysis. This data may include:

• Weight‑related statistics: Such as weight changes over a period of time, average weight, minimum and maximum weight, BMI, target weight and its progress.
• AI chat content: The text you enter in AI chat (including text converted from speech recognition).

This data is used only to generate health advice and analysis and is not used for advertising or marketing. We do not share information that directly identifies you (such as your name, email address or phone number) with AI providers. You can disable AI features at any time in the app, in which case such data will no longer be sent to third‑party AI services.

Third‑party AI providers we may use include:

• OpenAI (OpenAI, Inc., USA): When you choose OpenAI for AI chat or analysis, we send the above statistics and chat content to OpenAI’s API services.
• Alibaba Bailian (Alibaba Cloud Computing Co., Ltd., China): When you select Alibaba Bailian in settings and use related features within your membership, we send weight‑related statistics and necessary prompt content to Alibaba Bailian’s API services.

6. Other Third‑Party Services

In addition to the above AI services, we may use the following third‑party services to provide core functionality:

• Apple services: Including but not limited to HealthKit, CloudKit, WidgetKit and the App Store, used for data sync, widgets and app distribution.
• Email services: When you send feedback via email from within the app, your message is transmitted by your chosen email provider.

7. Your Rights

• You can view, edit or delete your records within the app at any time;
• You can disable iCloud backup or revoke HealthKit permissions in system settings;

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as features evolve or legal requirements change. For major changes, we will notify you in the app or in release notes. Your continued use of WeightNotes after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
